Nonprofit ‘rockstar’ Cathy Ostuw named Stamford Citizen of the Year

STAMFORD — Cathy Ostuw was prepared to play in her weekly Scrabble group on Thursday afternoon, but instead, she was left wordless.

Ostuw, co-founder of Building One Community and local nonprofit volunteer veteran, was chosen as the 2019 City of Stamford Citizen of the Year during a surprise celebration that left her “completely shocked.”
