Stamford Mayor, Building One Community Celebrate ‘Welcoming Week’

STAMFORD —  From Building One Community – The Center for Immigrant Opportunity celebrated 'Welcoming Week' for the third consecutive year with an event held on Tuesday, September 18th. Welcoming Week brings together immigrants and U.S.-born residents to celebrate unity and spread awareness of the benefits of being a welcoming community. The celebration took place at Building One Community's location at 75 Selleck Street in Stamford and was attended by B1C students, clients, volunteers, staff members, and Stamford Mayor David Martin. Attendees enjoyed cake, posed for pictures at a "selfie station" with welcoming signs written in various languages, and listened to Mayor Martin read a proclamation.
