Immigration law is complex, and submitting applications prepared by unlicensed persons can result in serious consequences for the immigrant.  “Notaries” in the U.S. are not qualified to provide legal advice. We strongly recommend only using licensed immigration attorneys or DOJ Accredited Representatives.

If we represent you, we will take full responsibility for completing and submitting forms based on the information you provide.  In our Clinics, we review the facts of your case and the applications you prepare.  However, if we are not representing you or assisting you in a Clinic, we cannot review forms filled out by you or third parties.

Immigration Legal Services’ exclusive focus is immigration law. Other areas of B1C can assist you or provide referrals for non-immigration issues. We can put you in touch with the right person.

During the initial consultation, we try to understand the general issues that you may be facing and answer questions. Please bring to the initial consultation all immigration-related documents that you have, as well as any other documents that will help us understand your situation better.  These include police and criminal court records, civil documents, and identity documents.

Every month, we offer a free one-hour Q&A session with our immigration attorney in person and on Zoom.  Anyone can attend without registration and ask any immigration-related question they have -- in Spanish, Haitian Creole, or English. The Q&As usually happen on the 2^nd Wednesday of every month.  Look at B1C’s program book for specific dates and times.

We can only help Connecticut residents, and we give priority to persons who live in Stamford and other towns in Fairfield County.
