ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT
B1C provides FREE Academic Enrichment in close partnership with Stamford Public Schools to help elementary- school children excel through programs designed to address their learning needs and help parents be more involved in their children’s academic efforts through workshops.
Homework Club & STEAM Program
We reinforce classroom learning through after-school sessions with volunteer tutors, helping students complete homework and build confidence in the classroom.
Exposing students early to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) programs can awaken their curiosity and make them more likely to pursue careers in these fields.
Our Homework Club & STEAM Program run from September through June four times per week.
Summer Program
Students work on math and reading skills during the summer and enjoy fun social-emotional and physical activities.
We partner with Springboard Collaborative, and involve teachers from Stamford Public Schools (SPS), to bring the daily reading program and weekly parent engagement workshops to our immigrant families. Reinforced math instruction is taught by B1C volunteers, and social emotional activities include yoga and mindfulness, tennis, and art.
Our Summer Program takes place four days per week, over five weeks that span through July and August.
