A Letter of Support from the Interfaith Council of Southwestern CT
To the Editor of the Stamford Advocate,
As faith leaders in the Stamford area who have worked with Building One Community, we write
in response to the recent allegations regarding this vital organization for immigrant integration in
our region. While we cannot comment on Mr. Amaya’s charges, they conflict with the
experience that we and our parishes have had. Our encounters with B1C have been of a
professional organization that actively welcomes all people and is committed to offering the
highest level of support to each and every immigrant seeking assistance.
We deeply support this organization that engages and enriches our community, the incredible
work they are doing, and their efforts to assure that everyone who comes to B1C is treated with
respect and dignity.
