STAMFORD, CT — Building One Community, the nonprofit organization that provides a comprehensive resource center for immigrants in the greater Stamford area, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct.28 to celebrate the grand opening of its new flagship location at 417 Shippan Ave.

Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons was joined by Congressman Jim Himes, Attorney General William Tong, and other local elected officials, influencers and partners for the occasion.

At the celebration, guests kicked off a community mural by painting by numbers to help recreate the iconic mural once painted at their original location – 75 Selleck St. in Stamford.

Artist Maria Esther Magallanes designed this mural in late 2016. It was a painting inspired by immigration featuring bright colors, neighborhood settings, musicians, and more.
