Routine Visa services restart
As of February 24, 2021, the U.S. State Department will start processing routine immigration visas. This announcement followed President Biden’s executive order ending Trump’s ban on issuing green cards during the pandemic.
Despite the resumption in processing, applicants should expect a long wait. As of February, it was estimated that 473,000 immigrant visa cases were pending consular interviews. The State Department will prioritize immigrant visa applications for immediate relatives of U.S. citizens.
