GREENWICH - An inaugural emergency fundraising drive, created to meet the needs of local community members most severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, has raised nearly $60,000.
The Help A Neighbor campaign, which began in late March through a partnership of Greenwich Time and the Stamford Advocate with four area human services agencies, helped 83 individuals and families struggling to pa for basic necessities — such as food, clothing, rent, utilities and child care — during the pandemic.
The recipients of funds are clients of Family Centers, Domus, Person to Person and Building One Community.
