Building One Community (B1C) Appoints Five New Board Members

Stamford, CT– February 6th – Building One Community (B1C), the center for immigrant opportunity is pleased to announce the appointment of five new board members to its board of directors – Aldo Cabrera, Talay Hafiz, Belle Horwitz, Andy Schau, and Ellen Williams.
Aldo Cabrera is currently a Senior Associate Director, IT infrastructure and Operations at Lone Pine Capital LLC. Lone Pine Foundation, Inc. has been a long-time partner of B1C. He brings a wealth of experience in the finance world and will be a fantastic contributor to the B1C Finance committee.
Talay Hafiz is a seasoned lawyer with a background in litigation. He is currently the Staff Counsel to Allstate Insurance in Tarrytown, NY. Talay has an impressive track record in driving litigation results. He will be an immense asset to the board as B1C continues to be a leading voice for the immigrant community.
Belle Horwitz brings a wealth of experience gained from her positions in government and in business where she served as Vice President of Citibank and of IBM Consulting, Americas, and is currently the Managing Director of OR International Holdings LLC (ORI). She will bring valuable insights and guidance in finance and strategy as B1C continues to grow and evolve.
Andy Schau has been a long-term volunteer at B1C in the Wage Recovery Clinic for years. He continues to use his extensive knowledge as an attorney to benefit B1C participants by helping them recover unpaid wages. Schau’s first-hand know-how will help facilitate discussion about program development and measuring impact.
