Thanks to all of you, in 2025 we set a new record for services delivered to our community’s immigrant families as they faced their toughest challenges to date. Given the magnitude of their continuing needs, we set an ambitious fundraising goal for our 2025 Annual Appeal. We would like to thank those of you who have already contributed – for those of you have not, there is still time to make a difference. We are counting on your spirit of generosity to help fund the vital programs and services that we provide for our participants and their families.

2025 was quite a difficult year for Building One Community and the immigrant families that we have the honor of serving. Over the past 12 months, we saw families and friends, fellow students, local business owners, and workers, have their lives upended as lawful immigration pathways disappeared, access to basic services was curtailed, and enforcement activities stoked fear and heightened stress.

Together with the network of community partners we’ve built over the last 15 years, B1C stepped up and stepped in, bringing an expanded range of expert knowledge and practical tools to combat uncertainty. As a result, while the challenges remain, participant families are better prepared to make informed decisions about their future prospects and have new resources to combat hunger, economic loss, and emotional stress. Acting with empathy and compassion, our staff and volunteers have helped to restore dignity and self-worth to each individual they encountered, and have sparked joy by sharing stories, hosting events, and celebrating victories.

In 2025, we served over 5,500 immigrants with more than 44,000 touchpoints – a 14% increase from 2024. Our numbers are growing, and more immigrant families need our support.

As one collective community, we have a moral obligation to take care of one another. Every human being deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. B1C’s core values are Excellence, Integrity, Responsiveness, Joy, and Kindness, which is how we approach our work every day.

Our Annual Appeal continues through January 31, 2026. We appreciate the contributions of all those who have already given, and encourage others to consider joining in this effort today. We are, indeed, one community and each of us can help to sustain it.
