AARP honors Stamford resident for community service

STAMFORD — In the 10 years since Mary Maarbjerg retired from her corporate job to focus full time on volunteer work, she has donated her time to different agencies and causes — but there’s one place where her impact is unmeasurable.

It’s through Neighbors Link Stamford, which she co-founded, that the city resident has helped numerous immigrant families file taxes, enroll their children in school, find jobs, secure housing and integrate into the community.
