NORWALK – The City of Norwalk and Community Partners are planning to hold an immigrant community meeting with state Attorney General William Tong Wednesday, Dec.18 at the Norwalk Concert Hall in City Hall.

The meeting, which will go from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m., will be led by Mayor Harry Rilling. In addition to Tong, Rilling will be joined by Alexandra Estrella, Norwalk Public Schools superintendent; Lamond Daniels, chief of community services; and Norwalk Police Chief James Walsh.

Several community partner organizations supporting the event will also be present, including Building One Community, Norwalk ACTS, and Catholic Charities of Fairfield County. The majority of the meeting will include a question-and-answer discussion where the audience will be invited to ask panelists questions about how local and state government officials will be working together to continue to make sure the city and state will remain a welcoming place for immigrants.

The meeting will be hybrid and take place in the Concert Hall at Norwalk City Hall as well as Zoom. It will include Spanish and Haitian Creole interpreters who will be in person, as well as translating the meeting via Zoom.
